St. George–Capra Church
St. George–Capra Church was built in 1877 by the vegetable merchant Constantin Duțulescu, nicknamed Capra (“the Goat”), together with his wife, Eufrosina. The church is evoked by Nicolae Steinhardt in “The Diary of Happiness” (Jurnalul fericirii). During the communist period it was moved from no. 131 Șoseaua Pantelimon to Fântânica Street, a distance of almost 90 meters, so that it would no longer be in sight of the leaders of the time.
