Church moved on rails · 1877; translatată 1985

St. George Church – Capra

The church was built and consecrated in 1877 on the initiative of the vegetable merchant Constantin (Costache) Duțulescu, known as Capra, who also donated the land, together with his wife Eufrosina and the families of the neighborhood. During the systematization years, the church at no. 131 Șoseaua Pantelimon was slated for demolition, but the parish priest Ion Popescu opposed it, and in 1985 the church was moved almost 90 meters to the northeast, onto the grounds of the parish cemetery, by engineer Eugeniu Iordăchescu's team. It was reconsecrated in 1990 and enlarged after 2000.
