Delea Veche Church

Tradition attributes the first wooden church here to the logothete Delea, at the end of the 17th century or the beginning of the next; the church is mentioned in 1761 by the traveler Blasius Kleiner. Probably during the reign of Alexandru Ghica (1766–1768) it was replaced by a masonry church, whose inscription has been lost. The present church was built between 1894 and 1896 to plans by the architect George Mandrea, with the support of the Metropolitanate; the murals are by Mihail Dragomirescu, and the iconostasis and the carved furniture are the work of C. M. Babic. It is dedicated to the Holy Trinity.
