Manu Cavafu Church

Manu Cavafu Church, dedicated to the Holy Trinity and the Holy Archangels, stands on Gheorghe Șincai Boulevard, near Tineretului metro station, in the old Broșteni neighborhood. Its construction date was established only in 1969, when the July 1815 petition was found in which Manu, head of the cavafi (shoemakers), asked permission to build the church on the land of the late Hagi Dumitrache Papazoglu, in keeping with the latter's wishes. Work began in 1815, and the church was fully completed in November 1817. It was repaired several times, and in 1985 the parish house was demolished for the surrounding apartment blocks.
