Nanu-Muscel House
The Nanu-Muscel House, at 7 Piața Romană, was built around 1909–1911 for Ion Nanu-Muscel (1862–1938), a physician who taught medical semiology, a senator and a doctor at the Filantropia and Colțea hospitals, who had bought the land at a City Hall auction in 1908. The villa appears in a 1911 list of works by the architect Ernest Doneaud; its attribution to Ion D. Berindey and its dating to 1890 are incorrect. The outbuildings were demolished in 2008, and in 2012 the property passed into the possession of the Academy of Economic Studies.
