Tinerimea Română Palace
The Palace of the Tinerimea Română Society, on Gutenberg Street in the Schitu Măgureanu area, was built for the cultural society of the same name to plans by the architect Virginia Andreescu Haret; the foundation stone was laid on 25 May 1924. For lack of money, the work was completed only in 1935, and the inauguration was performed by Nicolae Iorga. Besides the auditorium with about 1,200 seats, it housed a printing house, a bank, a library and an ethnographic museum, and high reliefs on the fourth floor depict moments from Romania's history.
