Colțea Church
Colțea Church, dedicated to the Three Holy Hierarchs, was built by the sword-bearer (spătar) Mihai Cantacuzino in 1695–1698, in place of a small wooden church from around 1641, and probably completed in 1702; it is named after the clucer Colțea Doicescu. It was part of the now-vanished ensemble of Colțea Monastery, whose bell tower was the Colțea Tower. The porch has an Italian Baroque portal, with griffins and the figures of the four Evangelists, and Gheorghe Tattarescu redid the interior murals in 1871. Badly damaged in 1977, it was restored after 2006, when its second tower was also rebuilt.
