Ghencea Church (old Lupești church)
On this site stood a small church, attested since 1820, built by Necula Bacănu and other merchants on land ceded by Radu Vodă Monastery, which owned the village of Lupești. Initially called “Lupești”, it was already known in 1853 as “Biserica Ghencii” (Ghencea's Church), a name later taken over by the whole district and whose origin is unclear. The old little church was torn down, and in 1927–1934 the present Holy Trinity-Ghencea Church was built here, to plans by the architects Virginia Andreescu Haret and Jean Pompilian; it was consecrated in 1934 by Patriarch Miron Cristea.
