George Călinescu Memorial Museum
The museum, under the care of the Romanian Academy, occupies George Călinescu's modest house on the street that now bears his name, with a garden dotted with sculptures. Inside, the critic's furniture, library, manuscripts, photographs and personal belongings are preserved, along with oriental rugs, Chinese art objects and icons on glass from Nicula and Făgăraș. On the walls hang paintings by Luchian, Pallady, Andreescu, Petrașcu, Iser and Ciucurencu. The house is a historic monument.
